LG’s ‘Wider-than-Wide’ Chocolate Phone is Coming…!

Yes, the Chocolate BL-40 is the first touchscreen cell phone that comes with a 21:9 display, along with a 5-megapixel camera, 3G data access, and, according to Boy Genius Report, Wi-Fi, speedy 7.2Mbps UMTS/HSDPA data access, and GPS.

LG had said that the new Chocolate will arrive sometime between July-October this year, in 54 countries. Yet there’s no mention about whether the U.S. will make the initial cut.

The most special thing about this phone, off course, is its ultra-wide, tempered-glass screen of 4-inches diagonal size and 800 by 345 pixels resolution. Plus a “Dual Screen” UI, that can “display two different types of content simultaneously,” according to LG.

Though i can’t imagine what would it felt like to use a 21:9 display for navigating usual phone functions or surfing the Web, LG had promised a “surprisingly convenient and efficient mobile environment,” and “incredible easiness” of Web browsing, because “there is no need to scroll horizontally to read entire Web pages.”
