Yes, the Chocolate BL-40 is the first touchscreen cell phone that comes with a 21:9 display, along with a 5-megapixel camera, 3G data access, and, according to Boy Genius Report, Wi-Fi, speedy 7.2Mbps UMTS/HSDPA data access, and GPS.

LG had said that the new Chocolate will arrive sometime between July-October this year, in 54 countries. Yet there’s no mention about whether the U.S. will make the initial cut.

The most special thing about this phone, off course, is its ultra-wide, tempered-glass screen of 4-inches diagonal size and 800 by 345 pixels resolution. Plus a “Dual Screen” UI, that can “display two different types of content simultaneously,” according to LG.

Though i can’t imagine what would it felt like to use a 21:9 display for navigating usual phone functions or surfing the Web, LG had promised a “surprisingly convenient and efficient mobile environment,” and “incredible easiness” of Web browsing, because “there is no need to scroll horizontally to read entire Web pages.”

…..Interested?

Imagine this: You can swipe a smart payment card through parking meter, and reload it online or even automatically. Or…how’s this one?: You can park your car anytime WITHOUT parking fees!! Do those ideas ever crossed your mind?

Well, if so, i guess hackers at this year’s Black Hat security conference shall make your dream come true. You see, they recently claimed to have created a fake payment card that can disguise itself quite well in front of San Francisco’s 23.000 electronic parking meters.

Since all this $1000 fake card does is replay the payment signals of an authentic card, it took only about 3 days of recording the electromagnetic waves that were generated when a real card was used on a parking meter using an oscilloscope, and a little trial and error of making a copy that would play back the same waveforms to trick a parking meter into accepting it as a payment, to create it. At least that’s what researcher Joe Grand said.

However, these cards are available only in San Fransisco for now, because each city’s meters require different reverse engineering process to hack. Yet “Lost hope we shan’t..!”, for the ‘bright side’ is; most electronic parking meters are also assumed to be vulnerable to some form of card tampering.

Once being forced to closed down by lines of court rulings, as reported in CNET News.com, Kazaa, a former giant in the P2P world with the same popularity rate as Napster and LimeWire, is back on the surface as a standard-issue music-subscription site, fully up and running, and prepared even for just a quick check at Kazaa.com.

Wrapped inside its almost-unrecognizable new looks, are unlimited number of DRM-protected music tracks, ready to be accessed under a number of subscribing regulations, including usage limitation up to only 3 PCs (not Macs) per account, zero compatibility with any portable MP3 players, $19.98 per month subscription fee, and a restriction-from-playing issue that will be applied on the downloaded Kazaa tunes, once the subscription runs out.

So, considering its ironic choice of involving DRM in the business, which is abandoned long since by even big music labels, and highly avoided by users, not to mention the popularity of free (or nearly free) music streaming sites like Slacker, Pandora, and Last FM nowadays, let’s hope that Kazaa really have something good in their sleeves for the $20 worth of month subscription.

As a social network, Facebook has successfully enlisted about 200 million people all over the world as its users. Such popularity, combined with the user’s common lack-of-knowledge on the complex security issues surrounding their favorite social network, will no wonder act as a magnet for kinds of malware and financial scams.

The attacks varied into wide range of phishing, viruses (such as the famous and vicious ‘Koobface’), and attacks through social engineering techniques. The last one mentioned should be enough to remind us to be extra careful and constantly vigilant when we go on the web, because anti-viruses and other security devices won’t serve any good against a message tells us that a friend back from our high school times needed money for a severely swollen tumor on his brain.

Facebook said that less than 1 percent of its users have been victimized over the last five years, and it’s still doing their part to fight the problem. Before the number ‘one percent’ soften some amount of vigilance we perhaps just start to muster, lets put in our mind that such appear-to-be minuscule amount could actually represent up to 2 million people, shall we?

Who would have guessed, that a simple, mediocre-looking, old-fashioned electrical outlet would allow us to perform such tricks as on the movies where experienced hackers magically managed to move pages of top-secret information right onto their laps in seconds?

Yet, those magicians already planning to reveal their secrets of stealing some computer keyboard-typed information’s, at the Black Hat USA conference which about to be held later this month.

And the trick itself turned out to be not at all as ingeniously complicated as we imagined. The typing process on a standard computer keyboard releases electrical signals through the cable to the PC. Normally, the signal would leak, because the cables aren’t shielded, via the ground wire in the cable, into the ground wire on the PC’s power supply. In simplest terms, the main issue is to detect these electrical signal leakage from the source computer (keyboard), and converting it back into alphanumeric characters in the hacker’s computer. The detecting process itself could be done by simply connecting a probe to a nearby power socket, up to 15 meters away from the source computer’s power supply.

And as it wasn’t enough, the hackers invented some ‘special tricks’ for those who work on an unplugged laptop or using a wireless keyboard: Pointing a laser beam to a shiny object on the source computer’s table, capturing the reflection by a receiving system, analyzing the vibrations which has unique patterns for each keys being stroke, and reconstructing it into words. A direct line of sight to the source computer and a few hundred dollars worth of equipment should do this trick.

A new revolution in mobile phone will be start beginning next year in Europe. Nokia, Sony Ericsson and many giant cell phone manufacturers have agreed to use one standard cell phone charger format. This is good news for European; they are able to charge their cell phones with one standard charger, practically easy and won’t have to buy a new one if using another cell phone. In the other side, Manufactures is necessary producing the charger that effect less waste for many usefulness chargers.

The universal standard charger using micro USB format which commonly use in many mobile phone or other gadgets. Unfortunately, this decision also come with some exceptions, this standard charger only applies to mobile phone that data enabled which able to access email or Internet. This fact makes the number of cell phone that use charger by manufacturers still so huge

With many major providers like Apple, RIM, Motorola, LG, and Samsung have signed the deal, we hope this standard program will be available next on Asia and the US.

Apple alone is a huge market, because iPhone connector is also used for the iPhone with many accessories designed with that connector in mind. Changing a charger is simply easy for Apple but changing multiple product lines of gear would be a massive undertaking, it makes manufacturers’s chance to go back to the precious sales well again.

And for this standard agreement, we would like to say congrats. We sure that this is not the easy jobs.

According Wall Street Journal, Giant PC and Laptop Manufacturer, Dell, is under process to develop a pocket size gadget which powered by Android Operating System and will be available on the store at the second half 2009.

The prototypes of Dell’s gadget is seems looks like Apple’s iPod Touch but slightly larger, according two peoples who have seen it. Just like iPod Touch, this gadget is not supposed a mobile phone, but it’s considered as one of gadget’s category called Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), which is a good market between mobile phone and netbook or laptop.

This project has already planned to be working about a year ago which to be planned as a new competitor for Apple’s iPod. The trusted source also said that Dell has considered selling the MIDs gadget through a cell phone operator as a package which Dell and HP do to sell their netbooks.

There’s also a rumors that Dell is planning to make a smartphone and the Android is strong candidate for the smartphone’s OS and fit for its netbooks. Maybe it won’t take too long to develop smartphone after the MIDs gadget is ready, because using the same platform. Just wait and see.
