Android’s MIDs by Dell is On The Way

According Wall Street Journal, Giant PC and Laptop Manufacturer, Dell, is under process to develop a pocket size gadget which powered by Android Operating System and will be available on the store at the second half 2009.
The prototypes of Dell’s gadget is seems looks like Apple’s iPod Touch but slightly larger, according two peoples who have seen it. Just like iPod Touch, this gadget is not supposed a mobile phone, but it’s considered as one of gadget’s category called Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), which is a good market between mobile phone and netbook or laptop.
This project has already planned to be working about a year ago which to be planned as a new competitor for Apple’s iPod. The trusted source also said that Dell has considered selling the MIDs gadget through a cell phone operator as a package which Dell and HP do to sell their netbooks.
There’s also a rumors that Dell is planning to make a smartphone and the Android is strong candidate for the smartphone’s OS and fit for its netbooks. Maybe it won’t take too long to develop smartphone after the MIDs gadget is ready, because using the same platform. Just wait and see.
